As part of their 80 anniversary concert series, the Zelman Symphony is performing Mahler's eighth symphony, with soloists Antoinette Halloran, Rosamund Illing, Nicole Car, Karen van Spall, Liane Keegan, Jason Wasley, Andrew Jones and Adrian Tamburini. A 430 voiced massed choir will be joined by a 100 voice children's choir. The last performance of this work in Melbourne did not enjoy the use of an organ like the one at the Town Hall that will have no difficulty in matching the other forces involved. A not to be missed performance for lovers of Mahler and huge romantic sounds!
